Four years ago, Navid Ghedami, an engineer extraordinaire, and Lanham Frazier, a concept visionary and capital provider, incorporated The Big S. We both had been working on our concept for a year or more before incorporating. Thankfully and appreciatively, we are at the point of launching into sales our unique grow system.
Our premises were to build a vertical, indoor, hydroponic, microclimate, agricultural grow system small enough to control the perfect environment for whatever plant is growing. Growing “the best a plant can be” consistently is invaluable, and a better plant than any grown elsewhere. EARTI® is the name of the grow system and Patented. We have designed three different versions of EARTI®. The microgreen trays version, a pots version, and a crawling plants version. With vertical hydroponics in our microclimate grow system, one may grow a substantial amount of food efficiently and economically to scale in one harvest with a small footprint. In addition, the portable, deployable, modular aspect of the grow system allows for the growth of highly nutritious, fresh food near consumption. This allows for food security and high- quality products. The reduction in Food Miles, water use, and contamination of the earth is significant.
Our collaboration with Rice University and Big S has paid significant dividends. Recent metabolic testing of harvested microgreens at Rice indicates EARTI® grown microgreens have better and more positive active compounds than those acquired in HEB and Whole Foods. Rice University characterizes the results as a seven times better quality food source. Our microgreens are not only more nutritious but taste remarkable. The Rice report on the metabolic testing is available upon request. This confirms our original premises and is a valuable competitive advantage in the market.
